My spam folder over at Gmail reads like an optimist’s dream.

Huge Advancement!
To be happy with yourself.
I can see why some spammers out there are reaching success with their messages. I do love Sudoku. I’ve always wanted to meet my soulmate. Advancement is a good thing. Cash is often in short supply. I can think of nothing I’d rather have in my mind than the joy of being happy with myself–true contentment.
Of course, they’re not really offering these things. The spammers are offering lines and phrases to sneak into my pocket. I’m a smarter consumer of e-info because I don’t open these things. My mail client reads those messages as spam & flags them accordingly.
But what if someday, someone, somewhere, finds my soulmate and the ultimate step to encourage peace in my own life? Will this someone contact me by email? Will Gmail shuffle it off to my Spam folder, to be lost forever when 30 days have elapsed?
That’s why I read through that folder every few days. Just in case.
