Tubes and Text

Couple of things before I get to the meat of what I want to yammer on about today.

First, Google has been referring some really weird things to me. Searching for What is a sexual hat trick brings you here. In fact, I’m #8. Searching for steve weird hand trick pops me at #2.

For those who really need to know, a ’sexual hat trick’ is when a woman has all three of her available orifices plugged at the same time. There. Are you happy now? I hate it when I do research like that.

Watch this video. Fascinating.

Truly a stunning piece of artwork that really describes what I’ve always thought of as the nature of Web 2.0 and does so without seeming pretentious. Seems to me that the so-called ‘Old Web’ or ‘Web 1.0′ (by the way, what’s the deal with numbering conventions? Was there ever a minor release for the Web? I don’t recall anyone ever talking about Web 1.3a. And are we currently at Web 2.06a?) was less about empowering the average users to get what they wanted through this giant network of tubes.

So, we had tubes. Now we have text.

I’m pretty sure I had a stronger end than that. But I think that’s it. Text and tubes.

P.S., for those of you not in the know, that second clip is a recording of Ted Stevens who is the longest-serving Republican in the Senate. And he’s still there. God help us.
